Countertops are in...and out
This morning, we got our new countertops. It really is the last big step before this kitchen looks like a real kitchen. By noon, the main slab was gone again. It turns out that the hole for the faucet was in the wrong place and the cuts on the side of the sink which will serve as the drain were forgotten altogether. The kitchen maker called somebody and carried the heavy slab out the door. Rats. And that's not all. Another section was cut too narrow by two centimeters and they now have to monkey with the cupboards underneath it to make the whole thing look normal. Either that or face another 4 weeks of waiting for a new slab to be cut. So off went that cupboards back to the workshop. This is really frustrating obviously. Still the countertops should be in place by the end of the week instead of by tomorrow night. A minor delay after all, but so unnecessary.
