This year, we did not even wait for the first day of spring to have our first picnic. The boys and I were coming back from the huge Paris book fair (Salon du Livre) around 1 p.m. and walking through the outdoor market near Saint-Eustache. On the spur of the moment, we gathered a quick lunch. A dietician’s nightmare really: chorizo, pita bread and madeleines though the market obviously sells fruit. We ate it in the sun facing the church. It was sunny, but a bit windy. Picnicking in Paris in March is not for the faint of heart. Judging from Emmanuel's squinting, we need to get the sunglasses out again.
