I am no fan of the Eiffel Tower, but...
I have never been a big fan of the Eiffel Tower. I can admire the technical feat, but it does not do much for me. But the other night, EJ and I were walking to a party in that neighborhood and, rounding the corner from Ecole Militaire, we came upon a blue Eiffel Tower against a sunset backdrop. It was pretty striking. Leaving the party a few hours later, we again walked through the Champ de Mars and I did a double take when I saw the blue scintillating Tower. It was a sight (and I don't even want to think about the cost of this special lighting which is a reference to the current French presidency of the European Union...).
