We finally have a kitchen

Four months after the date originally scheduled, our kitchen cabinets were delivered early this morning (regular readers have followed the saga of the delay caused by a rotten beam in the ceiling). Even the boys could feel the excitement and they were up early waiting for this moment. Of course, when I say "kitchen", I mean the parts. Tomorrow the kitchen maker starts putting it all together, which should take around 2 weeks. About 60 boxes are now stacked up in the kitchen and in the hallway.

Last night, EJ was up until 3 a.m. finishing a second coat of paint on the walls which will be covered by the cabinets. EJ doesn't do things half way and he wants things well done and clean, even the stuff nobody will see. He is off somewhere right now teaching a cooking class and must feel the pain with less than 4 hours of sleep.

Partial congratulations!  (Full congratulations will be granted when the kitchen is actually assembled and functional--I know from hard experience that those boxes don't just unpack themselves!)

Re:

The good thing is that there will be professionals unpacking those boxes and doing the installation work. And that starts tomorrow morning. Yea!
