Dog sitting
Pour quelques jours, nous faisons du dogsitting pour un voisin en voyage au grand bonheur des garçons. Timeo est un labrador doux et bien élevé à la maison. Dès qu'on sort, c'est un peu plus dur. Sur le modèle de "Chipper arrête de chiper" de Dora l'exploratrice, les garçons ont inventé "Timeo arrête de tirer". Mais en gros, ils se débrouillent très bien et ont même appris à ramasser. Pour Emmanuel qui voudrait tant un chien, c'est génial. De mon côté, je dois avouer que ce n'est pas désagréable pour quelques jours. Mais cette pratique de vivre avec un animal (dans un petit appartement qui plus est) me semble étrange à la base. Un petit mot d'Emmanuel : "C'est cool d'avoir un chien sauf pour la partie où on ramasse!"
Dans un autre registre, Henri Salvador est mort à 90 ans. EJ qui travaillait à deux pas de la Madeleine samedi matin a assisté à la procession. Je dois avouer que j'étais assez ignorante du début de sa carrière, mais j'aime beaucoup son album "Chambre avec vue" sorti en 2000. C'est un des albums que j'aime écouter quand j'ai un peu de calme seule à la maison. Voici un clip de "Il fait dimanche" repiqué sur Dailymotion.
To the boys' delight, we are dogsitting for a travelling neighbor. Timeo is a gentle Lab who is well-behaved indoors. Walking him is a bit more challenging as he pulls a lot. But the boys are both handling him well and have even learned to pick up after him. For Emmanuel who so wants a dog, it has been a fun few days and he is not happy to see Timeo's owner come back soon. I have to say that it was ok for a few days. But I still find the fact of living with an animal (particularly in a small apartment) quite strange. Summary from Emmanuel : "It is cool to have a dog, except the part about picking up."
On another note, French crooner Henri Salvador died this week. He was 90 and had performed his last concert this past december. EJ was working steps away from the Madeleine, the church where his funeral was held on Saturday, and watched the procession go by. I must say I was a bit ignorant about the early part of his career, but I loved his 2000 album "Chambre avec vue". It is an album I enjoy when I have a quiet moment at home.
