Kirikou est toujours aussi vaillant/Kirikou, an African superhero
On ne présente pas Kirikou et la sorcière Karaba aux enfants et aux parents francophones. Le dessin animé de Michel Ocelot (un projet « dont personne ne voulait » selon son auteur) est devenu un grand succès. Kirikou, l’enfant qui s’est enfanté tout seul, n’a pas de leçons à recevoir des grands. A peine né, il part affronter la sorcière qui terrorise son village et le prive d’eau. Kirikou est un conte de fée : le courage de Kirikou délivre non seulement le village, mais aussi Karaba rendue méchante par un sortilège. Sur la scène du Casino de Paris, ça déménage avec des décors astucieux, des musiques et des danses endiablés.
EJ avait depuis longtemps réservé des tickets : 2 adultes et 4 enfants pour qu’Emm et Gab invitent chacun un copain. Voilà le genre de bonne idée qu’EJ a à la pelle. Nous avons joué à la famille nombreuse avec 4 garçons sous le charme de Kirikou. Allez, j’en profite pour rendre hommage à mon extraordinaire mari, un véritable super héros sans la cape et le masque.
No need to introduce Kirikou and Karaba the witch to French-speaking parents and kids. Michel Ocelot’s animated movie (a project “nobody wanted” according to the author) turned into a huge success with a sequel and now a live show at the Casino de Paris. Kirikou is born all by himself (ok, that sounds weird, you will just have to watch the show or believe me) and won’t listen to the adults trying to talk sense into him. Still a newborn, he goes to fight the witch who is drying up the wells and terrorizing his African village. Kirikou is a fairy tale: not only does Kirikou deliver the village thanks to his exceptional courage, he also delivers Karaba from the spell which had made her mean. You know how this is all going to end, don’t you? The decors are great, the music and the dance are boisterous.
A while back, EJ had gotten 6 tickets: 2 adults and 4 children so that Emm and Gab could both invite a friend. This is the kind of great ideas EJ keeps coming up with. So we happily pretended to be a large family and all four boys fell under Kirikou’s spell. I will just take this opportunity to say that EJ is a superhero, minus the cape and mask, in his own right.
