Long week-end/Labor Day week-end
Entre un problème de connexion persistent à la maison et une petite escapade à Tahoe pour le long week-end de Labor Day, c'est un peu le désert ici. Tahoe était agréable comme toujours (bateau, tennis, marche, bons repas), mais un peu surréel sans les garçons. Ce week-end, j'ai loupé l'occasion d'aller à Burning Man, un événement très différent dans le désert du Nevada (j'avais écrit ceci en parlant avec des revenants de Burning Man l'année dernière). Ce n'est pas exactement mon environnement, mais il faut parfois pousser ses limites et les habitués de BM en parlent avec tant de passion...J'ai parlé aux garçons hier soir quelques minutes avant qu'ils ne partent à l'école. C'est la rentrée. C'est un peu étrange de ne pas être là pour la rentrée de Gabriel au CP.
Between a persistent problem with my Internet connection and an escapade to Tahoe for Labor Day week-end, I have deserted the blog for a few days. Tahoe was nice as usual (boat ride, tennis, hike, great meals), but it was a bit surreal without the boys. This week-end, I missed out on an opportunity to attend Burning Man, a very different type of gathering in the Nevada desert (I wrote about it here last year based on conversations with attendees). You would not think this is my kind of place, but one should sometimes take the chance to push back one's limits and BM regulars are filled with such longing when they talk about it...I spoke with the boys last night a few minutes before they had to be off to school for the first day back. A bit strange to be missing Gabriel's first day in elementary school.
