Leaving Seattle

What a beautiful city. My trip to Seattle is coming to an end. After touring the Microsoft campus all day yesterday, I trekked up to Capitol Hill in search of those Obama tee-shirts I had promised myself to bring back. Someone had given me some wrong information about where to find some, but eventually I did get lucky. Now I can go back to France and we can wear our political leanings out on our sleeves (apparently 80% of French people would vote for Obama, but we have often been totally at odds with the American voters).

In any case, it was fun to walk through Capitol Hill, catch a bus back downtown (about 4 people on the bus including the driver got together to help me find my final destination, Olympic Sculpture Park, an art museum on the waterfront), then walk some more through Belltown to rejoin my group at the Park. The entertainment was provided by "dueling" pianists playing our requests. Well, as was predictable, the American members of the party were signing, clapping and eventually dancing while the international press contingent was rather stiff and not having any of it.

Seattle, especially under the sun, is a nice place to hang out. But now time to go home and deal those beams.
