Toujours en contact/Always in touch
Grâce aux merveilles de la technique, j'ai pu presque mettre les enfants au lit ce soir avant de discuter pendant une heure avec EJ. Via Skype, j'ai appelé les garçons chez mes parents sur leur ligne fixe et nous avons eu une conversation d'une dizaine de minutes (qui m'a coûté environ 10 centimes d'euros, rien du tout). Un petit échange pour se rappeler les uns aux autres et partager ces petits riens si importants. Quand les enfants ont été couchés, EJ et moi avons discuté pendant une bonne heure malgré quelques petites difficultés de connexion au départ. En nous voyant et sans débourser un sou. Avec une webcam et une connexion, le "cybersex" est censé être le grand truc sur Internet. Nous serions dans la parfaite configuration pour essayer. A ce compte, l'éloignement est presque virtuel.
Et maintenant, parce que j'ai bien travaillé depuis trois jours, je pars à la plage avec Tony et Logan, avant d'aller voir La Vie en Rose.
Thanks to the wonders of technology, I was practically able to tuck the boys in tonight before spending an hour chatting with EJ. Using Skype, I called the boys on my parents' land line and we had a 10-minute conversation (which cost me only about 10 cents of euro). A quick exchange to remember each other and to share those little nothings that are so important. Once the boys were in bed, EJ and I chatted for a full hour despite some initial technical difficulties. We could see each other and it did not cost us a penny. With a webcam and a connection, cybersex is the big thing, they say. We should be the perfect couple to try it. At this rate, distance is somewhat virtual.
And now, because I worked hard for the last three days, I am off to the beach with Tony and Logan the dog, and then to the movies to see La Vie en Rose, the story of French chanteuse Edith Piaf.
